What she does

Kelly's focus is the preventative side of women's health — the care that is easy to postpone and expensive to skip.

  • Well-woman and annual exams — screening, Pap and HPV testing, and the broader health conversation the appointment exists for.
  • Preventative wellness — reviewing what your screening schedule should actually look like at your age and history, rather than defaulting to whatever happened last year.
  • Contraception counselling — including IUD placement arranged with Dr. Gomez where that is the right option.
  • Everyday gynecologic concerns — the symptoms that do not feel dramatic enough to make an appointment for, and usually should.

Why patients ask for her

As a mother of three, Kelly understands the unique needs and challenges women face — and is passionate about offering care that is not only medically sound but also deeply relatable and supportive.

Her mission is to be the healthcare provider every woman deserves: someone who listens, educates, and connects on a personal level.

That last part is not incidental. A great deal of women's health care fails at the explanation rather than the diagnosis: a result gets reported, a plan gets issued, and nobody has the ten minutes it would take to make it make sense. Concierge scheduling gives Kelly those ten minutes, and she uses them.

Working with the team

Kelly practices alongside Dr. Christina Gomez, D.O., and the two share the same record and the same plan for each patient. Many women see Kelly for routine and preventative visits and Dr. Gomez for procedures or more complex concerns — and if something in a visit is better handled by Dr. Gomez, she is brought in rather than the patient being sent elsewhere.

Outside the office

Kelly enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling, and exploring new culinary experiences as a self-proclaimed foodie.

Questions

Before you book

What can I see Kelly Cortes for?

Well-woman and annual exams, screening and preventative care, contraception counselling, and the everyday gynecologic concerns that bring most women in. She is also the provider many patients see for the conversation itself — understanding a result, weighing options, or working out what a symptom actually means.

Is a nurse practitioner the same as a doctor?

No, and the distinction is worth understanding. Kelly is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a master's degree and national board certification. She evaluates, diagnoses, treats and prescribes, and she practices as part of the Altavida team alongside Dr. Christina Gomez, D.O. For most routine and preventative gynecologic care, seeing a nurse practitioner means the same standard of care and, often, a sooner appointment.

Can I see Kelly instead of Dr. Gomez?

Yes. Many patients see Kelly for routine and preventative visits and Dr. Gomez for procedures or more complex concerns, and the two work from the same record and the same plan. Tell the office who you would like to see when you book, and if something in your visit is better handled by Dr. Gomez, Kelly will bring her in rather than send you elsewhere.

Do I need a membership to see Kelly?

Not for your first visit. To continue with Altavida on an ongoing basis after that, membership is required — it covers concierge access, longer appointments and direct communication with your provider. Membership works alongside your insurance rather than replacing it, so your medical care is still billed to your plan or paid at published self-pay rates.

Does she take insurance?

Yes. Medical visits, screening, labwork and in-office care are billed to your insurance in the ordinary way, and Altavida also publishes self-pay pricing for patients who are uninsured or prefer to stay out of insurance.
